Jetz was a rescue from Wetnose Animal Shelter, I was delivering food there one day when I saw her, I enquired about her age because by my assumption she looked to be around 12/13 years old. I was pretty close, however Jetz was in fact 14, she had been there for the last few months and there was no real hope of her being rescued, so I made the descision to take her home. Jetz only lived a year after that with me before passing on, but in that year she had lived a life most dogs can only dream of. Up until her final day she was an enthusiastic "old duck" who would face life head on. The pictures below were taken a mere 2 weeks before she passed away. 

My best friend closed her eyes last
night, As her head was in my hand.
The Doctors said she was in pain,
And it was hard for her to stand.

The thoughts that scurried through
my head, As I cradled her in my arms.
Were of her younger, happy years,
And OH...her many charms.
